I’m thrilled that two of my weddings this summer are going to include reception photobooths. The photobooth has got to be one of my favourite wedding reception additions, and I keep coming upon fabulous twists to this super fun trend. Curious how to do a photobooth at your wedding? To keep things simple, you can rent a photobooth, just like the ones you find in malls. They produce (almost) instant images in that familiar photo strip format. Guests can take them home, or you can creative with display options (try ribbon and clothes pins). And then there’s the DIY photobooth, and the options here are almost endless. Start with a backdrop. If you’re lucky there might be an aesthetically pleasing corner at your venue that doesn’t require any dressing. More likely you’ll need to create a using some eye catching fabric you’ve stumbled upon (or searched for for months).Next you’re going to need some props. Try the classic moustache on a stick, an assortment of hats, or some feather boa’s. You might want to include little chalkboards or white boards for guests to write messages on. You can also take some frames (look for large ones at thrift stores), spray paint them, and let guests strike a pose. Oh, and don’t forget to sneak over to the photobooth with your groom and get some playful candids to add to your photo album!
If you’re feeling really industrious you can even build a hard set like this Boat Photobooth designed by Amorology Weddings featured on Ruffled (one of my favourite blogs).
