Design Story

Let me tell you, Andrea, Jason & I had a TON of fun designing their elegant yet quirky wedding. I could write a novel on all of the personal details! Neither Andrea nor Jason had a design ‘vision’ when we started working together. They just knew they wanted it to be elegant, and really fun.

We decided on a colour palette of pinks and greys, and chose thematic elements of pennants and circles. Andrea & Jason have a fantastic way with words, so they spent lots of time selecting clever stationery. From the invitations that inquired exactly how excited each guest was to attend the wedding, to the menu with a long list of items people did not want to eat, to ceremony programs on pennants with the words “Yippee” and its French counterpart “Youpi”.

Instead of a guestbook, guests wrote letters and sealed them with custom wax seals (in honour of Jason’s love letter proposal). Steel grey linens looked fabulous with the pink florals, and the entire room was lit a warm pink hue. The Pièce de résistance was the donut table that appeared at the end of the night. Guests devoured the maple bacon apple fritters created by a local bakery!
