Holly + Mark

Design Story

When we visited the space at Divino, with its to-die-for hardwood floors, gorgeous exposed brick wall, and sleek metal accents, I knew this was the perfect space for Holly & Mark’s uber modern fete. We started by creating a more intimate ceremony space with a focus on light, white and bright. Sheer white draping hid the majority of the venue, a custom painted aisle runner created a focal point for Holly’s entrance, and white metal trees with pearl strands and fuchsia orchids (nestled in glass globes) marked top of the aisle. When the flower girl and ring bearer walked down the aisle carrying “Yay” signs, the giggles really created a warm atmosphere for the heartfelt ceremony.

When guests returned to the venue, it had been completely transformed.  There are so many fun details in this reception I don’t know where to start!  While the ceremony focused on bright natural light, the evening reception was all about sexy, hot pink light. (That’s right, I said it: a sexy wedding!) The focal point of the reception decor was the massive sweet table with custom candy apples (Holly’s favourite!), whirly pops, and cola jaw breakers, and a fabulous topsy-turvy cake with pearl accents. While swanky jazz played in the background, guests enjoyed seriously scrumptious tray of passed hors d’oeuvres. Just as Mark & Holly had envisioned, the guests visited, ate amazing food, and danced the night away.
